Meet Regina

I’m not your “uh-huh” therapist.

If you’ve ever been in therapy and wondered if your therapist was secretly just counting ceiling tiles while you talked — I promise, that’s not me.

I’m that therapist they told you about — the one who actually talks back.

I ask hard questions, challenge your assumptions, and use humor (sometimes the slightly inappropriate kind) to make you see things from new angles.

I believe therapy should feel like a conversation that
wakes you up, not one that puts you to sleep.

When you sit with me, expect feedback, perspective, and a little bit of fire — all grounded in compassion. My clients often say they came in expecting to vent and left realizing they’d just seen their story from a completely different lens.

Whether I’m in a therapy room or on stage, I show up with the same mission: help people get honest, get unstuck, and get moving — with insight, compassion, and a little bit of fire.

I don’t do fluff. I do growth!

The Real Truth

I didn’t become a therapist because I had it all figured out. I became one because I’ve seen what happens when people don’t heal.

I grew up watching how unspoken pain can echo through families — and how humor, honesty, and connection can change everything.

That experience shaped my passion for helping others break generational patterns, rediscover their voice, and rebuild their lives from the inside out.
I’m not the silent head-nod therapist. My sessions are honest, creative, and collaborative. We’ll laugh sometimes, get uncomfortable other times, but always move toward clarity and growth.
My writing gets real and keeps you interested... because we all want to explore our truth, even when it's not easy.

When I speak, I bring that same energy — humor that disarms, truth that challenges, and insights that stick with you long after you’ve gone home.

How I Work

Professional Background

Credentials & Experience

I’m Dr. Regina Tate, PsyD, LPC-S, a therapist, author, and speaker based in Texas.

I’m the owner of NewPath Therapy & Wellness and Connected Path Recovery, where I lead teams dedicated to helping people grow through connection, courage, and compassion.

My research — Breaking Generational Cycles of Dysfunction: A Phenomenological Investigation of Transformation and Resilience — explores how people move from dysfunction to self-awareness and transformation. It forms the foundation for my book-in-progress and workshop series, The Cycle Breaker’s Journey.
Supervisor, Mentor & Coach
As a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), I help emerging therapists grow into confident, ethical professionals.

I also coach private practice owners and clinical leaders who want to scale their impact while maintaining integrity, structure, and joy.

Supervision is where confidence is built. Coaching is where courage takes root.

Speaker & Educator
I speak to professionals, communities, and organizations about topics like breaking generational patterns, resilience, self-awareness, and identity.

My style? Equal parts insightful, direct, and down-to-earth — because psychology shouldn’t sound like a textbook to the people who need it most.
Therapy Takeaways

Therapy Takeaways is my educational platform that makes healing and self-growth practical.

It offers free downloads, worksheets, and (soon) self-paced courses for individuals, clinicians, and anyone ready to turn reflection into resilience.

And When I Am Not Doing All Of That...

You’ll probably find me outdoors brainstorming ideas over coffee, mentoring colleagues and entrepreneurs/leaders, or reminding people (and myself) that growth doesn’t require perfection — just persistence.

I believe in laughter, grace, second chances, and the idea that the best kind of therapy feels like a deep breath mixed with a lightbulb moment.
